Each compound below was checked against WADA's own Prohibited List
explorer on 2026-08-05, and the category shown is the one the List
places it in. This page reports what a published document says. It is
not eligibility advice, and it cannot tell you whether a compound is
allowed.
That second point is the important one, and most sources get it
wrong. A compound missing from this page has not been cleared. WADA's
S0 category covers, in its own words, “any pharmacological substance
which is not addressed by any of the subsequent sections of the List and
with no current approval by any governmental regulatory health authority
for human therapeutic use” — so a substance can be absent from
every search result and still be prohibited at all times, precisely because
it is unapproved.
We publish only what we can source. Deciding whether S0 catches
a given compound requires knowing whether any regulator anywhere has
approved it, and this site tracks the FDA. For the other
25 compounds we track, we do not know,
and saying so is the honest answer.
The categories below, in WADA's own wording:
S0 non-approved substances ·
S2 peptide hormones, growth factors, related substances and mimetics ·
S4 hormone and metabolic modulators ·
S6 stimulants. Everything in S0 is a “Specified Substance”,
which affects how a violation is sanctioned.
